Children within our programs are generally evaluated by our staff, who are the only New York State Education Dept. approved evaluators in Chemung County. The jurisdictional school district committees review the evaluations and determine eligibility and placement. Pre-School The Pre-School offers classes that are based on individual needs, while emphasizing communication and socialization skills. It is the only Center Based Special Education Program in Chemung County. Services include: Half and Full Day Programs 12:1:1 and 8:1:2 Special Classes 10:1/8:1:1 Special Classes in an Integrated Setting Early Intervention The early intervention program is for children birth to 3 years old. Services take place in the home and include Physical, Occupational, Speech Therapies and Special Instruction. Therapeutic Services Comprehensive Services are provided for children with developmental disabilities, speech and hearing disabilities, autistic spectrum disorders or tendencies and behavioral needs. Therapy is geared to each person. Services provided include Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy as well as Speech and Language Therapy.
